Jet formation from rotation black holes

Thesis abstract: Magnetized rotating black holes are believed to be the engines of jets launching in active galactic nuclei (AGN). The main goal of his project is to study via GR-MHD simulations the very early stage of AGN jet lauching near a black hole surrounded by an accretion disk. The research is based on an axial symetric numerical scheme for general relativistic magnetohydrodynamics called HARM. Different physical enviroments will be built into the HARM code to learn the behavior of jets under various circumstances.
