AGN NIR-continuum reverberation measurements
My research focuses on the morphology, origin, and evolution of the broad-line region (BLR) and the surrounding dusty torus in active galactic nuclei (AGN), more specifically in local Seyferts. In order to determine the size scales involved we use reverberation measurements of the time lag between luminosity variations of the accretion disc in the center of the AGN and the dust torus. Multiband photometric observations of 15 Seyfert galaxies will be analyzed and combined with spectroscopy to look for indications of a common origin of the BLR and torus phenomena.
