Although the theory of CDM is a simple model that can explain structure formation on large scales, galaxy and stellar dynamics and many more observations remarkably well, current observations of structure on scales of galaxies and dwarf galaxies are still challenging for the theory. I am running hydrodynamical simulations of isolated dwarf galaxies and satellites to investigate the effect of baryonic physics and accretion processes on the satellite galaxy and it’s halo properties. Using their results I want to show if either the current discrepancy between observations and model predictions is due to lack of a correct description of baryonic and other subgrid physics or the CDM model needs to be revised.
