Star-formation, dust properties and radio-loud AGN in z~1 LEGA-C galaxies
My PhD research focuses on examining various properties of galaxies in the 6 Gyr old universe. I am interested in learning more about the process of maintaining quiescence at z~1 through the feedback from active galactic nuclei (AGN). Other properties I will focus my study on include star-formation and dust properties of z~1 galaxies. For my research I use the Large Early Galaxy Astrophysics Census (LEGA-C) high signal-to-noise and high resolution spectra, which enable us for the first time to explore in detail stellar dynamics and star-formation histories of z~1 galaxies. In combination with the LEGA-C optical data set I use the VLA 3GHz data set to study the AGN feedback, and the ALMA data set for a detailed study of the dust properties.
